This page describes the standards behind every guide on BeScreened.

Our principles

Useful first. Each article answers a specific question directly, then adds detail, checklists and a short FAQ.
Neutral and general. We explain ideas and trade-offs rather than promoting particular companies or products.
No invented facts. We do not make up statistics, quotes, studies or prices. When something varies, we say so.
Original writing. Our articles are written for this site, not copied from other sources.

Sensitive topics

For anything that touches health, children, legal rights or money, we keep to general information, add a short note, and direct readers to official sources and qualified professionals.

Images

We use real photographs from open-licence sources such as Wikimedia Commons. Each image is credited with its author and licence, and we avoid pictures of identifiable private individuals.

Corrections and updates

If you spot an error, contact us. We review reports, correct confirmed mistakes promptly, and update articles when the underlying facts change.

Independence

We aim to keep our guides neutral and general. Any content that is sponsored or commercial in nature will be clearly labelled as such.
